By analysing the definition of food security we can arrive at the following conclusions:

• All people should have access to good quality nutritious food which should fulfill their daily requirements of nutrients.
• The food should be available throughout the year for the people to consume.
• Natural calamities like drought, flood, forest fires and crop failures should not hinder with availability of food.
• The food should be affordable to all the citizens at any given time.
