Industries are called the backbone of a country because -
1. They form a major part of the economy.
2. They provide employment to a huge population.
3. They produce goods which are necessary for many processes.
4. They modify the raw materials came from Agricultural sector to valuable materials.
5. They increase the value of goods . ex- Wheat is cheap but when it is transformed to biscuits its value increases.
6. Industries form the secondary sector , the tertiary and primary sector are interdependent on it.
