By coincidence, William's Paint Supplies sold equal quantities of two paint colours yesterday: yellow and blue. All yellow paint comes in 9-litre containers while blue paint is sold in containers of 18 litre. What is the smallest amount of each paint colour the store must have sold? You will need to show your working out to this in the next question

Answer:

18 litres

Step-by-step explanation:

As you have said they were sold in equal quantities then we will take LCM of 9 and 18 i.e. 18 Then we can find out that at least 18 litre of paint of each colour must have been sold to make both the colours sold of equal quantity.
