Step-by-step explanation:

3x - 5y = 4 --->(i)

9x - 2y = 7 --->(ii)

Multiply eqn (i) by 9

9(3x - 5y = 4)

27x - 45y = 36 --->(iii)

Multiply eqn (ii) by 3

3(9x - 2y = 7)

27x - 6y = 21 --->(iv)

From (iii) and (iv)

27x - 45y = 36

27x - 6y = 21

————————

-39y = 15

=> y = -15/39

=> y = -5/13

from eqn (i):

3x - 5y = 4

=> 3x - 5(-5/13) = 4

=> 3x + 25/13 = 4

=> 39x+25/13 = 4 (taking LCM)

=> 39x + 25 = 52

=> 39x = 27

=> x = 27/39

=> x = 9/13
