hello mate,

equation \: 1 \:   \:  \:  \: x + y = 5

equation \: 2 \:  \:  \:  \: 2x - 3y = 4

multiple equation 1 to 3

soo.

3(x + y = 5) \\ 3x + 3y = 15 \:  \: equation \: 3

now add equation 2 and 3

2x - 3y + 3x + 3y = 15 + 4 \\ 5x = 19 \\ x =  \frac{19}{5}

fill the value of x in equation 1

soo

x + y = 5 \\  \frac{19}{5}  + y = 5 \\ y = 5 -  \frac{19}{5}  \\ y =  \frac{25 - 19}{5}  \\ y =  \frac{6}{5}

now

our answer is

x =  \frac{19}{5}

y =  \frac{6}{5}

hope it will help you
