all elements in a Periodic table show the gradual change because because same group of electricity has out electricity is the same electricity

Elements across a group show similar chemical properties due to same number of valence electrons. Whereas elements across a period show gradual change due to decrease in size and different number of valence electrons.

Explanation:

Elements present in same group tend to show similar chemical properties due to the same number of electrons present in their outermost shell. As a result, these elements tend to show similar reactivity.

For example, Li, Na, and K are allgroup 1 elements and all of these elements contain 1 valence electron.

So, all of these elements readily lose their valence electron in order to acquire noble gas electronic configuration.

On the other hand, elements present in a period does not contain same number of valence electrons. Hence, their properties change gradually.

For example, electronegativity of elements increases across a period from left to right.

Ionization energy of elements also increases across a period from left to right.
