In story of 'Happy Prince' by 'Oscar Wilde' is a story brings out idea that the love and concern for poor and miserable people is the greatest service which is blessed by God. This story touches the deepest recesses of our hearts. A prince who had led a very happy life was very upset by observing the miserable conditions of citizens of his town after death.
By helping needy and bringing smile on someone else's face we can experience true joy. At first, the swallow plucked Ruby from Prince's sword to help seamstress. Then, prince sent a sapphire to help playwright. After that, the sent the second sapphire to the matchgirl. The swallow and The prince together helped many citizens of town. The prince didn't thought of the condition of his own statue and swallow kept on post ponding to go Egypt. Instead of their own needs and happiness, they felt the need of helping others would be more worthy.
