By plotting the following points on the same graph paper, check whether they are collinear or not : (i) (3, 5), (1, 1) and (0, -1) (ii) (-2, -1), (-1, - 4) and (- 4, 1)

If [x1(y2 - y3) + x2( y3 - y1)+ x3(y1 - y2)] = 0. then (X1,Y1),(X2,Y2),(X3,Y3) are collinear points .

(3, 5), (1, 1) and (0, -1)

(3(1+1)+1(-1-5)+0)

6-6+0=0

the points (3,5),(1,1),(0,-1) are collinear

(-2, -1), (-1, - 4) and (- 4, 1)

(-2(-5)+-1(2)+-4(3))

10-2-12=-4

the points (-2, -1), (-1, - 4) and (- 4, 1) are not collinear
