By product of the digestion of cellulose in temperature of atmosphere. What is the reason behind this observation

The by product of digestion of cellulose in ruminants is methane. The Methane is produced in the guts of ruminant livestock as a result of methanogenic microorganisms. Methane is a green house gas, so it traps heat in the atmosphere. If the amount of methane in the atmosphere increases, the temperature will go up even more.
