Given:

  • Merchant sold 1 quintal rice for ₹1500 and gains 20%

To find:

Cost of 10kg rice.

Note:

1 quintal = 100kg

Formula:

 \green{\fbox{C.P. = S.P. - Gain}}

Answer:

Cost of 100kg rice = ₹1500 - 20 of 1500

= ₹(1500 - 300)

= ₹1200

Cost of 1kg rice = ₹1200÷100

= ₹12

So, the cost of 10 kg rice = 12 × 10

Hence, the cost of 10kg rice is 120.
