Original price of 12 apples = 12*100/(100–20) = Rs 15

If to be sold at 20% profit then =15*120/100= Rs 18

Now Unitary method = 18/12= 3/2 * 1/12= 1/8 i.e. 8 apples must sold for a rupee to gain 20% profit
