Hi,

Selling price of 20 pair of shoes(s.p) = Rs18000

Loss ( l ) = 20%

Cost price of 20 pair of shoe = ( s.p × 100 )/(100-l)

= (18000×100)/(100-20)

= 1800000/ 80

= Rs22500

Now ,

Cost price of 1 pair of shoe = 22500/ 20

=Rs 1125

3 ) let number of pair of shoes he sold to get

20% profit = x

Cost price of x pairs = c.p = Rs 1125x

Selling price of x shoes ( s.p ) = Rs16200

Profit ( g ) = 20%

We know that,

s.p = cp ( 100 + g ) /100

16200 = (1125x )( 100 + 20 ) /100

16200 = ( 1125x ) ( 120/100)

( 16200 × 100 ) / ( 1125 × 120 ) = x

12 = x

Therefore,

The shopkeeper has to sell 12 pair of shoes

at Rs 16200 to get 20% profit.

I hope this helps you.

:)
