Let us take the selling price of one banana be ' x '

selling price of 36 bananas = 36x

four bananas = 4x

Cost price = selling price + loss

Cost price = 36x + 4x

= 40x

Loss % =  ( Loss ÷ cost price ) × 100

Loss % = ( 40 x ÷ 4 x ) × 100

Loss % = ( 4 x ÷ 40 x ) ÷ 100

Loss % =  ( 1  ÷ 10 ) × 100

Loss % = 10 %

Let the S.P. of 1 orange be rs 1

sp of 36 oranges = rs 36

Given:-

loss = sp of 4 mangoes

loss percent= sp+l

= rs 36+4= rs 40

loss percent= 4/40×100 =)100/10

=)10
