Expert Answer:

Let the Selling Price of one Orange = Rs. x

then the Selling Price of 4 oranges = Rs. 4x

Cost Price of 36 oranges = 36x + 4x = 40x

Loss = the Selling Price of 4 oranges = Rs. 4x

Loss% = loss/c.p X 100

begin mathsize 16px style fraction numerator Loss over denominator straight C. straight P end fraction cross times 100 end style

Substitute the values, we get

Loss% = 10%
