By selling 45 kg sugar, a shopkeeper gains equal to SP of 5 kg sugar. Find his Gain% OR Loss%.

5/(45-5) *100=12.5% gain percentage

Abhirup1: when you want to calculate profit or loss of an article and product sold at selling price at first give the profit on numerator and ( sp- profit) in denominator.

Solution :-

Selling Price = Cost Price + Profit (SP = CP + P)

Profit on sale of 45 kg sugar = Selling Price of 5 kg sugar : 45P = 5(C + P)

⇒ 45P = 5C + 5P

⇒ 45P - 5P = 5C

⇒ 40P = 5C

⇒ P/C = (5*100)/40

⇒ P/C = 500/40

⇒ 12.5 %

So, profit margin on Cost Price is 12.5 %
