let the cost price of 60 articles be 'x'

and selling price of 1 article be'Rs 1 '

selling price of 60 articles = Rs 60

selling price of 15 articles = Rs 15

since, vendor gains = S.P of 15 articles

according to the given statement :
-------------------------------------------------
S.P of 60 articles - C.P of 60 articles

=S.P of 15 articles

60 - x = 15

x=60 - 15 = 45

cost price x = Rs 45

gain = selling price - cost price

gain = 60 - 45 = Rs 15

gain % = gain × 100 /cost price

=15 × 100 / 45

=33.33 %

Answer : gain = 33.33 %
--------------------------------------------------------
second method :
------------------------
S.P of 60 articles - C.P of 60 articles

=S.P of 15 articles

S.P of 45 articles = C.P of 60 articles

gain % = difference × 100 / sold

=(60 - 45 ) × 100/ 45

=15 × 100 / 45 = 33.33 %
