By selling 75 metres of cloth I gain the selling price of 25 metres.

Let SP of 75m cloth = 75x
Gain = 25x

CP of 75m cloth = 75x - 25x = 50x

Gain % = gain/CP × 100

Gain % = 25x/50x × 100 = 50%

Given: By selling 75 metres of cloth I gain the selling price of 25 metres.

To find: We have to find the gain percentage.

Solution:

Let the selling price of one-meter cloth is x rupees.

Thus, the selling price of 75 meters cloth is 75x rupees.

I gain the selling price of 25 meters.

So, the selling price of 25 meters is 25x rupees.

We know that, gain=selling price- cost price.

So, the cost price is 75x-25x=50x rupees.

Thus gain percentage is as follows-

 \frac{25x}{50x}  \times 100 \\  =  \frac{100}{2}  \\  = 50\%

Thus, the gain percentage is 50%.
