Data given :-
suppose shopkeeper sells only 1 dozen pencil their price will be = 1A
→ we know that the amount of 8 dozen pencil will be = 8A
answer :-
S.P = selling price
C.P = cost price
Now we have to find profit for selling 1 dozen pencil
profit = (selling price of 1 dozen ) = A
C.P = 8A- A = 7A ( cost price of 8 dozen )
S.P = C.P + gain
S.P of 8 dozen = C.P of 7 dozen + 1 dozen profit
S.P ( 7 dozen ) = C.P ( 8 dozen )
by selling 7 dozen product he get 1 dozen gain
profit % = gain ÷ C.P × 100
= 1 ÷ 7 × 100
= 0.1428 × 100
= 14.28 %
profit will be 14.28 %
