Cost price of cap is ₹28.

Given:

  • Selling price of cap ₹29.75 .
  • Profit 6.25%.

To find:

  • Find the cost price of the cap.

Solution:

Formula to be used:

\boxed{\bf Profit  \: \%=\frac{SP-CP}{CP} \times 100} \\

Put the given values in the formula,

Let Cost price of cap be ₹x.

6.25 =  \frac{29.75 - x}{x}  \times 100 \\

6.25x = 2975 - 100x \\

6.25x + 100x = 2975 \\

106.25x = 2975 \\

x =  \frac{2975}{106 .25}  \\

x =  \frac{297500}{10625}  \\

cancel the common factors from numerator and denominator.

\bf x = 28 \\

Thus,

Cost price of cap is ₹28.
