Cost price of a chair is 1440

Loss of 10 percent

C.P.=

(100−Loss%)

S.P.×100

=

(100−10)

1440×100

=

90

144000

=Rs.1600

Hence, the shopkeeper bought the chair at Rs.1600.

Answer:

As a chair is sold for 240 and he loses 1/4 of. its cost then original cost price (CP)=

3CP/4= 240

CP=(240×4)/3

CP=320

So he buys that chair for Rs320.

If he sold the chair for 360 Profit% =

we know -

SP=(100+profit%)/100 ×CP

360=(100+profit%)/100×320

by solving this we get profit%=12.5%

Hope it helps you.
