Selling price = Rs. 720 .
Lost percent = 20 %
There fore , loss
= 20 % of x
= 20 / 100 * x
= x / 5 .

So , acc. to the question ,
x - x / 5 = 720
=> 4x / 5 = 720
=> x = 720 * 5 / 4
=> x = 900 .

There fore , Cost price is Rs. 900 .

So , lost amount
= Rs. 900 - Rs. 720
