Answer:

Let the cost price be x Rs., then ;

s.p = (%gain/100)+c.p

600 =x+ (15/100)×x

600 = x+(3/20)x

600 = (23/20)x

x = 600×20/23

x = 12000/23

x = 521.73

therefore the cost price is Rs. 521.73

Answer:

SP = Rs \:600 \:

Gain \% =  15\%

CP = \frac{100 }{ (100 + gain\% )}  \times SP

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  = Rs \: \frac{100}{(100 + 15)}  \times 600

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   = Rs\: \frac{100}{115}   \times 600

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   = Rs\: \frac{20}{23}   \times 600

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   = Rs\: \frac{12000}{23}

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   = Rs\: 521.73
