let the co be rs x.
so x-x*5/100=570
or, x-x*1/20=570
or,19x/20=570
or,x =(570*20)/19
or,x=600 so cp rs 600
to gain 5% sp will be=rs.(600+600*5/100)
=rs.630 (ans)

Answer:

Selling price is Rs.630.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : By selling a horse for Rs. 570,a tradesman would lose 5percent.

To find : At what price must he sell to gain 5percent?

Solution :

Let the CP of article be X

Loss 5% of selling price

SP=Rs.570

So, 570=x-x\times\frac{5}{100}

570=x-x\times\frac{1}{20}

570=\frac{19x}{20}

x=\frac{570\times20}{19}

x=600

CP=Rs.600

Gain 5% SP will be

SP=600+600\times\frac{5}{100}

SP=630

Therefore, Selling price is Rs.630.
