We have S.P. = $ 4000 and loss = 15%.

Let c.p = $100

As there is loss % as 15 so s.p = 100 - 15 = $75

Let the c.p of the mobile be $x

Now make proportions as

100/x = 75/4000

Cross multiply

75x = 100 . 4000

75x = 400000

So, x = 400000/75

x = $  5333.3

Hence the cost price of the mobile is $5333.3
