THE CORRECT ANSWER IS
640 = x+(x*28/100)

640 = x+(0.28x)

640 = 1.28x

500 = x

ANSWER ISX=500

 =  &gt; 640 = 1.28x \\  =  &gt; x =  \frac{640}{1.28}  \\  =  &gt; x = 500
Hence,
Cost Price =₹500
