Answer:

(i) cost price is 300 (ii) loss percentage is 50/3 % or 16 2/3 or 16.66 %

Step-by-step explanation:

Let c.p = x

loss = 1/6th of x so, x/6

C.P. = S.P + Loss

x = 250 + (x/6)

x - (x/6) = 250

(6x - x)/6 = 250

5x/6 = 250

x = 250 * 6/5

x = 300

C.P. = x = 300 rs. (i)

Loss = x/6= 300/6 = 50 rs.

Loss % = Loss/C.P. × 100

= 50/300 × 100

= 50/3 = 16.66 % or 16 2/3 %
