Answer:

Let the co be rs x

so x-x*5/100=570

x-x*1/20=570

19x/20=570

x =(570*20)/19

x = 600

So CP = 600

To gain 5% sp will be =(600+600*5/100)

= 630

QUESTION:

  • By selling a radio for 570, I would loss 5%. At what price should I sell it to gain 5%?

ANSWER:

Let cost be Rs 'X'

So,

 \\  \\  \\  \\  \\ x -  \frac{5x}{100}  = 570 \\  \\  \\  \\ 20x - x = 570 \times 20 \\  \\  \\  \\ 19x = 570 \times 20 \\  \\  \\  \\ x =  \frac{570 \times 20}{19}  \\  \\  \\  = 600 \\  \\  \\  \\  \\  \\

TO GAIN 5% SP WILL BE :

 \\  \\  \\  \\  \\ (600 +  \frac{600 \times 5}{100}  \\  \\  \\  \\  = rs \:  \:  \: 630 \\  \\  \\  \\
