Find Percentage he sold at:

100% - 12% = 88%

-

Find 1%

88% = 9240

1% = 9240 ÷ 88 = 105

-

Find percentage to sell at:

100 + 12 = 112%

-

Find 112% (Price to sell):

1% = 105

112% = 105 x 112 = 11760

-

Answer: He should sell it at 11760

SP = 9240

he suffered loss so CP will be greater

Loss = 12%

hence SP was 100 - 12 = 88% of cp

let cp be x

88% of x = 9240

x = 924000/88

x = 10500

cp = 10500

now we want profit of 12 %

so Sp will be greater

SP = 100 + 12 = 112% of cp

= 112/100 * 10500

= 11760

his SP should be 11760 for a gain of 12 %
