let the cp be x
x by 5/100 =x/20
so the loss is x/20
sp = cp-loss
sp= x-x/20=19x/20
85.5=19x/20
so x =(85.5×20)/19
x=90
cp =90
new sp =94.50
cp <sp=gain
gain%= (sp-cp)/cp×100
gain%=5 %
