Solution:

Given:

=> SP = Rs. 768

=> Loss % = 20%

To find:

=> What price should he sell article in order to gain 20%.

Formula used:

=> CP = SP × 100/100 - loss %

=> SP = CP × (100 + Profit %)/100

So,

=> CP = SP × 100/100 - loss %

=> CP = 720 × 100/100 - 20

=> CP = 72000/80

=> CP = Rs. 900

Now, At Profit 20% and CP = Rs. 900

=> SP = CP × (100 + Profit %)/100

=> SP = 900 × (100 + 20)/100

=> SP = 900 × 120/100

=> SP = Rs. 1080
