Correct Question :

By selling a stool for ₹67.50 a carpenter loses 10%. how much per cent it would be gain or loss by selling it for ₹82.50?

Answer :

 \sf \: we \: have: \\ \sf \: SP = ₹ 67.50 \\ \sf \: and \\ \sf \: lose \: percent \: = 10\% \\ \\ \sf \: CP = \frac{SP}{ \left( 1 - \frac{rate}{100} \right)} = \frac{67.50}{ 1 - \frac{10}{100} } \\ \\ \sf = \frac{67.50}{90/100} = \frac{67.5}{90} \times 100 = ₹75 \\ \\ \sf \: if \: SP \: = ₹ 82.50 \\ \\ \sf \: gain \: = \: SP - CP = 82.50 - 75 = ₹ 7.50 \\ \\ \sf \: gain \: per \: cent \: = \left( \frac{gain}{ CP} \times 100 \right) = \frac{7.50}{75} \times 100 = 10\%
