ANSWER:

  • 10% (approx) percent he would gain by selling it for 82.507.

GIVEN:

Selling price of stool = 67.50

Loss percentage = 10%

TO FIND:

How much per cent would he gain or loss by selling it for 82.507?

FORMULA TO FIND:

 \sf CP = SP \times \dfrac{100}{100}  -  loss\%

SOLVING BY APPLYING THE FORMULA:

 \sf CP  \: of \:  the \:  stool = 67.50 \times \dfrac{100}{100 - 10}

 \rightarrow \sf CP =  67.50 \times \dfrac{100}{90}

 \rightarrow \sf CP = \dfrac{6750}{90}

\rightarrow \sf CP = \dfrac{675}{9}

\rightarrow \sf CP =Rs.75

If he sell the stool for 82.507 then gain would be:

82.507 - 75 = 7.507

 \sf Gain\% =  \dfrac{7.507}{75}  \times 100

Gain % = 0.1 × 100

Gain % = 10% ( approx )

HENCE:

10% (approx) percent he would gain by selling it for 82.507.
