AnswEr :

He Should Sell that Watch at Rs. 1680

Explanation :

  • A Man Sell a Watch at Rs. 1440 and incurred 10% Loss.
  • At What Price He Should sell that Watch to Gain 5% Profit.

▣ SP = Rs. 1440

▣ Loss% = 10%

▣ Gain% he Wants = 5%

We Know the Formula :

\large\boxed{\bf{SP = CP \times  \frac{(100 - Loss\%)}{100}}}

➟ SP = CP × \large\bf{\frac{(100-10)}{100}}

➟ 1440 = CP × \large\bf{\frac{(90)}{100}}

➟ 16 × 100 = CP

CP = Rs. 1600

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

\large\boxed{\bf{SP = CP \times  \frac{(100 + Gain\%)}{100}}}

➟ SP = CP × \large\bf{\frac{(100+5)}{100}}

➟ SP = 1600 × \large\bf{\frac{(105)}{100}}

➟ SP = 16 × 105

SP = Rs. 1680

 \large\therefore If He want to Gain 5% Profit the watch must Sell at Rs. 1680

Answer :

Cost Price of the watch :

Loss = 10%

SP = 100 - 10 = 90%

SP = Rs 1440 [ Given ]

➡ 90% = 1440

➡ 1% = 1440 ÷ 90  = 16

➡ 100% = 16 x 100 =

Cost Price = Rs. 1600

The New Selling Price :

Profit = 5%

Profit = 5% of Rs 1600 = 5 × 16 = Rs. 80

➡ Selling Price = Cost Price + Profit

➡ Selling Price = 1600+ 80

➡ Selling Price = Rs. 1680

To Get Desired Profit 5% He Must Sell Watch at Rs. 1680
