Answer:

CP=2000 and MP=2400

Step-by-step explanation:

Discount will be given on MP

(100-Discount)%MP=SP

Given,

By selling an article at a discount of 25%. there is a loss of 200

(100-25)%of MP=SP

75%of MP=SP

here loss=200

we know loss=CP-SP

               SP=CP-200

hence,

75%of MP=CP-200 -------------    Eq(1)

if discount rate is only 10% there will be the profit of 8%.

90%of MP=SP

we know,SP=(100+gain%)/100*CP

               SP=(108/100)*CP

90%of MP=(108/100)*CP---------------------Eq(2)

by diving Eq(1) by Eq(2)

we get CP=2000

substitute CP value in any equation

75%of MP=2000-200

MP=2400
