Answer.....

  • Selling price =market price ×(100-discount)

  • |/100

1170=market price ×90/100

divide it

=1300cost price

cost price =1170×100/130

cost price =900

  • sold at 0% discount then S.P= 130 profit%

Profit%=profit/C.P×100

400/900×100

44.44%

There should be profit of Rs. 400.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Selling price of an article = Rs. 1170

Discount % = 10%

Profit% = 30%

Let marked price be 'x'.

So, it becomes,

x-\dfrac{10}{100}x=1170\\\\\dfrac{100x-10x}{100x}=1170\\\\\dfrac{90x}{100}=1170\\\\x=\dfrac{1170\times 100}{90}\\\\x=1300

Cost price is given by

\dfrac{100}{100+30}\times 1170\\\\=\dfrac{100}{130}\times 1170\\\\=900

If there is no discount, then the profit should be

MP-CP\\\\=1300-900\\\\=Rs.\ 400

Hence, there should be profit of Rs. 400.
