SOLUTION :-

Let the CP be x

Profit = 20%

cp \:  =  \:  \frac{ \cancel{20}x}{ \cancel{100} \:  \: 5 }  =  \frac{x}{5} \\  \\ sp  = cp \:  + p \\ \\  250 \:  =  \:  \frac{20x}{100}  + 20\ \\ \\  250 \:  =  \frac{20x +100 }{100}  \\  \\ 250 =  \frac{ \cancel{12} \cancel0 \: x \:  \: 6}{ \cancel{10} \cancel0 \:  \: 5}  \\  \\ 250 =  \frac{6x}{5}  \\  \\ 6x = 250 \times 5 \\  \\ 6x = 1250 \\  \\ x =  \frac{1250}{6}  \\  \\  \therefore \: x  = 208.33

so ,

the CP of the article is 208.33
