Step-by-step explanation:

x + y - 5 = 0

x = 5 - y -------------- (i)

2x + 3y - 4 = 0 ---------------- (ii)

Now substituting (i) in (ii)

2(5 - y) + 3y - 4 = 0

10 - 2y + 3y -4 = 0

y = -6

x = 5 - y

x = 5 - (-6)

x = 11
