we can measure the irregular piece of stone with help of measuring cylinder and cotton thread by the following method.

step 1: fill the measuring cylinder half with water . and note the measurement.

step 2: tie the stone with the thread and dip it in water . the level of water will rise .note that measurement

step 3: from the second measurement minimise the first one . The result will be the volume of stone :)
