x + y = 5 - - - - (i) \\ 2x - 3y = 7 - - - - (ii) \\ by \: elimination \: method \: we \: get \\ \: \: x \: + \: \: y = 5 \\ 2x - 3y = \: 7 \\ ( - )( + ) \: \: \: \: \: ( - ) \\ - - - - - - - \\ - x + 4y = - 2 \\
