2x = 20 +3y

y = (x-13)/2

Simplify the second equation.

x = 2y + 13

Substiture this into the second equation:

2(2y + 13) = 20+3y

4y + 26 = 20 +3y

y = -6

Substitute this for y.

x = 2(-6) + 13

x = 1
