once upon a time there lived a poor woodcutter . he used to cut trees and sell them. he used the money he got by selling woods for buying food. one day he was cutting trees in a forest. suddenly the axe slipped from his hands and fell into the river. the river was so deep. he sat on the banks of river and started crying . the goddess appeared from the water . the wood cutter was shocked. the goddess asked why was he crying . he told that," my axe...my axe.... my axe ....my axe has fallen in th river..." the goddess gone in the river again and came back with golden axe . the goddess asked," is this your axe?" the wood cutter refused to take the axe. the goddess gone inside the river and brought silver axe and asked," is this your axe?" the wood cutter again refused to take tale the axe. the goddess again gone inside the river and brought iron axe and asked," is this your axe?" the wood cutter said, " yes , this is my own axe," the wood cutter was too much happy. he took his axe and was going home . the goddess was please with his honesty . she stopped him and gave all the three axe to him in reward .
