The usual time to cover the distance is 24 minutes

Solution:

Given that,

By walking at 4/5 of his usual speed, a man is 6 minutes late to his office

Therefore,

With a speed of 4/5 th of the usual speed, the time taken is 5/4 th of the usual time

Let "x" be the usual time

(5/4 of usual time) - (usual time) = 6 minutes

\frac{5}{4} \times x - x = 6\\\\\frac{x}{4} = 6\\\\x = 24

Thus the usual time to cover the distance is 24 minutes
