(1/3)-2=-5/3
let the number be x
therefore
-5/3*x=15
-5x=45
x=-9(your answer)

hey friend,here's your answer:

first we find the difference between 1/3 and 2=1/3-2=1/3-6/3=-5/3

now this is to be multiplied by x to get 15:
=-5x/3=15
=-5x=45
-x=45/5=9
x=-9
