Answer:Let the number be x.

So, A/C to question

{(-5)^-1} x = 8^-1

=> {1/(-5)¹} x = 1/8¹

=> (-1)5x/5 = 1/8

=> -5x/5 = 1/8

=> -5x = 1/8(5)

=> -5x = 5/8

=> x = 5/8 ÷ -5

=> x = 5/8(1/5)

=> x = 1/8
