by what number should we multiply 3 by minus 14 so that the product may be 5 and 12

let the required no. in both the cases be X, then:-

1) 3/-14*X = 5
-3/14 X = 5
=X= 5 * -14/3
-70/3

2) 3/-14*X = 12
X = 12 * -14/3
X = -56

so the answers r -70/3 or -56
