Let the number by which 22 / 7 should be divided in order to get - 11 / 14 be x ,

According to the question,

( 22 / 7 ) divided by x is equal to - 11 / 14

( 22 / 7 ) ÷ x = - 11 / 14

22 / 7 × 1 / x = - 11 / 14

22 / 7 × 14 / 11 = - ( x )

{ 2 × 11 } / 7 × { 2 × 7 } / 11 = - x

2 × 2 = - x

4 = - x

- 4 = x

Therefore the number by which 22 / 7 should be divided to get - 11 / 14 is - 4.

Solutions :-

Let the certain number be x

A/q

=> 22/7 ÷ x = - 11/14
=> 22/7 × 1/x = - 11/14
=>22/7x = - 11/14
=> 7x × - 11 = 14 × 22
=> - 77x = 308
=> x = 308/-77 = - 4
