ANSWER:

Kedarkhand

EXPLANATION:

The Kumaon region also known as the Kedarkhand or Uttarakhand in ancient or Puranic literature. It was the only political entity during the ancient period. The Kumaon region had once covered the region of Garhwal in its fold. The River Tons separated the Kumaon region from Kali (river), Nepal in the east and Himachal Pradesh in the west. Beginning from the foothills in the south, the Kumaon region expands upto the snow-covered peaks of the mountains of Himadri near the Indo-Tibetan border.

That is the ancient Kumaon region encompassed the complete belt from the Kali river in the east to the river Tons in the west; and Niti pass upto river Sutlej in the north and Thakurdwara city of the now known district of Moradabad in the south.
