The Lok Sabha, also known as the Parliament can be dissolved on the advice and recommendation of the sitting President of India.
While in actuality, the president is mostly ceremonial with very little powers as compared to the Prime Minister, he or she does have the authority to make or break the Lok Sabha.
This is in stark contrast to the United Kingdom where there is no President and the United States where there is no Prime Minister
