question :

The base of a right-angled triangle is 8 c.m and hypotenuse is 10 c.m. Its area will be

(a) 24 c.m?

(b) 40 c.m?

(c) 48 c.m?

(d) 80 cm?

Answer :

\sf\pink{given}

  • The base is 8 cm .

  • The hypotenuse is 10 cm .

\sf\pink{to\:find}

  • Area = ?

  • We need to find the height .

  • Height = opposite .

By Pythagoras theorem ,

hypo² = base² + opp²

➡️ 10² = 8² + opp²

➡️ 100 = 64 + opp²

➡️ opp² = 100 - 64

➡️ opp² = 36

➡️ opp = √36

➡️ opp = 6

Area of the triangle = ½ × b × h

➡️ ½ × 8 × 6

➡️ 4 × 6

➡️ 24 cm²
