Answer:

c+2d = 4

2d = 4 - c

d = (4-c)/2

then substituting d in 2md equation that is 2c - d= -1

2c - d = -1

2c - d + 1 = 0

2c - (4-c)/2 + 1 = 0

taking LCM 2

4c -(4-c) + 2 = 0

4c - 4 + c + 2 = 0

5c -2 = 0

c = 2/5

substitute c value in 1st equation that is c+2d = 4

2/5 + 2d = 4

taking LCM 5 we get

2 + 10d = 20

10d = 18

d = 18/10

= 9/5

Therefore, c = 2/5 and d = 9/5
